“Without Pain, How Could We Know Joy”?
ReplyDeleteThis quote means you won’t know how the other side of the rode feels unless you feel, pain, and hurt. For example, my favorite aunt is sick. I really don’t know how to deal with it but I do. I may get emotional but I know she is going to get better, if I am positive around her and bring a positive attitude in her house then she’ll be better. In the story Augustus has been through a lot getting his leg amputated but he still has joy in his heart. I know it was a time when he had pain, but he overcame that, just like I did.
“Family is forever”
Your family is always there for you know matter what. It doesn't mean how many trials and tribulations you go through, they are still there for you. Always holding you hand, non-stop. Family is in fact forever. Whenever I don’t feel good and I stay at home, my grandmother always takes care of me. She loves me a lot. The reason this quote is all around Augustus’ house is because his parents want to always find ways to encourage him, in what he is going through.
“Good Friends Are to Find and Impossible to Forget”
If you have good friends keep him/her. When you and your friend split apart over a disagreement, you will both be thinking about the situation. When me and my friend fight, and argue we cry afterward. I don’t know why, we feel guilty. We make sure we apologize and talk about it when we just laugh.

ReplyDeleteMy favorite line in chapter two is, " But you don't even have my phone number," he said. " I strongly suspect you wrote it in the book." He broke out into a goofy smile . " And you say we don't know each other." This is my favorite line because it shows how they are made for each other. It also shows how strong their click is.
I can relate to this line because my niece makes me feel like that. She knows a lot about me and sometimes we finish each others sentences. Its almost like she's my other half. It does make you feel like some one understands who you are and accepts you even though you are different.
The theme of this line, to me, is friendship. I say this because it shows they are trying to get to know each other and become friends. I really like the vibe I get from this book because it sends a positive message.
If I were Hazel I would've been blushing. I would also not be hard to get because I'm sick so I would just chill. I would actually welcome him more because he knows what it's like to be in my position. It's always nice to have a friend you can relate to because they know how you feel. I predict that they are going to get closer and closer.
I'm so glad that she found Augustus Waters because he can show her how to live again. For me my niece does because she can turn my world happy again, so yeah I can Relate to Hazel and Augustus .
A quote I like " home is where the heart" I like that quote, because I can agree to it I love o go home, because I just like it, being in a place where I know I am safe, and being in a place where I know I am safe.Also being surrounded, by people who care for me, an believe in me. Even though not all the time I feel like home is where the heart is, because sometimes I get irritated, I know it is.Another quote, I like is "good friends are hard to find, but impossible to forget". I believe in the quote, because I made good friends, even though we agure over the smallest things, we always over come it.I ad people who used me, but true friends was their even thought iy was against them. The third quote, I like is " family is forever". I lie this quote, because I put family, before anyone else, but one time I did the opposite, but that person learned her lesson. I know it was wrong. I put my family before anyone else,because your family is their for you,before anyone else. Family is important,because some are supportive. This quote means that family are with you forever.Another quote I like is "without pain,how would we know joy".I like this quote, because if there was no pain, joy will be everyday, and when pain come you won't know what joy is

Quote-“And you say we don’t know each other.”
The reason I chose this quote because at the end of chapter 2 Augustus says and “you say we do not know each other.” What Augustus really mean is that he really likes Hazel but that Hazel likes hem but she doesn’t recognized that Augustus really care for Hazel and she knows that she is building a close relationship with him. Both of them have mix feelings for each other but they do not know how to express them to each other, Hazel is shy when gets around Augustus and that’s she gets around him and his family. Augustus does not feel that erg to stop talking about his life because he is not shy and that worry about nothing because he know he is going to die because he has cancer. I really think that Hazel is scared to take Augustus around her side of the family because they will ask him questions about the diseases that Hazel got and which is cancer. In addition, she would get nervous about that and she will say this was a mistake because I knew I should have not brought you around my family because they ask too much question. Augustus was in Augustus house one day he they wanted to watch a movie down stairs and Augustus asked his father but he said no that shows that Augustus is not scared because he does not now when going to die and he really cares about Hazel and Hazel really likes Augustus 2 different feeling.
To leave a legacy behind means to leave something behind that made a big impact to the world. For example a legacy I believe that my grandmother left was that she is working hard for the community that we live in because she is trying to make sure that all the kids in our community stay out of trouble and stay in school so they can make something good of their life.
ReplyDeleteAlso I believe you do not have to be famous to leave a mark on the world because anyone can leave a legacy behind if they only do what they believe is right for the world. For example a person can leave a legacy behind if he or she starts a petition to help sick animals, or if people try to help find a cure for cancer. Anyone could try to do those things and they do not have to be famous to accomplish those task.
To me I think you do not have to be famous to leave behind a legacy because you can just do what you believe is right and you do not have to be famous to do anything right. That is why I think you do not have to be famous to leave behind a legacy because any man or woman can leave behind a legacy and they do not have to be famous to do so.

ReplyDeleteThe quote that stands out to me the most is stated "Good friends are hard to find a impossible to forget". This quote stood out to me because this quote is true. A lot of people out in this world can be called your friends but not good friends. Good friends wouldn't lead you into doing bad things. Good friends would stick around and help you with our life. If you need help with something your good friends would be there to help no matter how difficult the situation is. Good friends would lead you to a good path, not a bad path. These are m opinions of what good friends would and wouldn't do. It's impossible to find good friends because in my opinion it's not that many good friends in this world. Non good friends would laugh ad joke with you in your face and talk mad trash about you behind your back. Good friends would be honest with you. Good friends would accept you being honest with them. Good friends would try ways to make your bad days brighter. And good friends would accept you for you. In my personal I have a good friend who lives near me. Shes my good friend because she likes me for me. We're honest with eachother and we accept it. We give eachother advices on personal problems and issues. Also she enjoys my visits to her house. She helps boost my confidence knowing I have huge doubts on myself. She shows me a good friend.

“How about i call you when i finish this” i picked this quote because Hazel was playing hard to get with Augustus. I can connect to to that because when i really like someone i don't want to call them to seem press to call them or text the them so i try to play hard to get. Hazel really likes Augustus but she just doesn't want to seem press over hi. I also can connect to this quote because playing hard to get can seem so dreamy when you think about someone or have feelings for someone from my point of view. A lot of teenagers play hard to get so they can maybe make someone think about them but really both are thinking of each other. “I think we actually gonna watch TV in the basement. His dad laughed.Good try. Living room” in this quote Augustus tries to be sneaky. I can connect to this quote as a teenager because i am very sneaky. Ex: Hypothetically speaking i have a friend over and we about to smoke then i be like mom we going in the basement but she says no y'all going in your room .That is how Augustus is trying to be with Hazel sneaky but his dad is not going for it. Augustus dad laughed because he was young once and maybe tried to do the same thing so he already know what Augustus is trying to do. I also can connect to this quote because from a parents point of view parents already know what their children are up to just because they were young once to.

ReplyDelete"Right, that's why I said tommorow," he said. "I wanted to see you again tonight and much of tommorow. I chose this quote, because it made me connect to Augustus. I also understand how Augustus feels when he says he wants to see Hazel. When a person that I am affectionate about isn't around me I feel empty. There has been plenty of times where I couldn't be without a certain person. When Augustus says this, I assume that he being around Hazel brings him joy. I understand how he feels. When I talk to or see my crush I can't wait to see them again. I know that waiting is hard, but that special someone is always worth the wait.I think this quote has something to do with the theme Love triumphs over hardships. Augustus knows that Hazel is ill, but that doesn't stop his feelings for her, Love is powerful. Although, they haven't known each other for very long, they connect very fast. In my opinion I think they were made for each other. A person's feelings for one another can cause many life changes. It may be the most simplest thing that pleases a person. For instance, just wanting to be in a person's presence. Personality can sometimes over power appearance. What I mean by this is that a person's actions can be more appealing than looks. Augustus didn't care that Hazel had little hair and baggy clothes on, he was still attracted to her.
My favorite line in chapter 2 is "He broke out into a goofy smile" and you say we don't know each other". This is my favorite quote because even though she just met him, they easily connected and they really know a lot about each other. This quote relates to m life because when I first met this boy, we only knew each other for 1 month but it felt like forever. We instantly connected and we knew everything about each other. Even though I cant be in Hazels shoes and see how she is feeling I can infer that her stomach has butterfly's because that is exactly how I felt. This quote also relates to my life because it shows how you can know someone for such a short period of time but you know so much about each other and you feel so close to the person. In my opinion I think that Hazel knows a lot about Augustus even though they knew each other for such a short period of time. This quote is also cute because it tells how you don't need to know someone for 5 years to feel a connection between you two, you can know someone for 2 months and automatically feel a connection. This quote is the cutest quote in chapter 2 because its showing how close they are just by talking for one day. When me and this boy first met we knew a lot about each other just like Hazel and Augustus knew a lot about each other for such a short period of time. Even though this quote is short it tells a lot and a lot of people can relate to it.
ReplyDeleteThe quote or i should say encouragement, "Without pain, how could we know joy?" Is an encouragement that would help you look at the positive in a bad situation. I can relate to that in some way. The time my grandmother died, i was in a bad mood and in a lot of pain. If i didn't feel that i don't think I will be able to remember the good times we had. Another time was when i almost lost my life at the beach. Ever since that day I learned how good life was and to enjoy yourself. In the book Hazel and Augustus are going through a tough time but they are having fun with each other while they can. Another encouragement in chapter 2 that i liked was, "Good friends are hard to find and impossible to forget." This quote encouragement is true i don't think I will be able to say it any better. It means it would take time to find someone you could trust, relate to and get along with. When you do it’s really hard to forget who they are if the two of you stop talking. It’s like the time i had a best friend and we were very close. One day we got into an argument and we never spoke again. I still remember her and everything we did. To me i think if Hazel and Augustus stopped talking to each other that would be on their mind all day, every day

The different quotes hung around the house of Augustus Waters all carry important meanings of live but the most important and significant to me was the quote " Love Is Born from Hard Times". This quote is important because it's speaking the truth. You can't just assume your going to love someone just because how they look. Love is found after you and your suppose lover have been through a great deal of time of pain and happiness. Love isn't developed overnight. It's something thats molded over many months and years. You would know that you actually love someone when you recognize how much you and your lover been through. As you reflect on your rise and falls you will soon realize that you might be for each other. But love don't last forever. As hard as it is to find true love it is easy to break the bound of love you suppose to have had. Now I may be some BK randy kid typing this but that is my perspective of that quote and love altogether. Another quote that was important was "Without Pain, How Could We Know Joy?" This quote shows important because you can't have sunshine without a little rain. Not all happiness is given to you. You may have to overcome a problem or something emotional. Happiness in my opinion is something earned throughput hardship and hard work. When you accomplish something you will feel more better about yourself as a person because you know you accomplished some personal goal that you made which will cause you to want to set even more goals. This should give everyone something to think about because you never know what sad thing may happen there is always sunshine on the other side. This further relates to how you can't have sunshine without a little rain.

DeleteI chose the quote/encouragement "Home is were the heart is". I really agree with this quote because its a very great quote. It relates to me by my heart being at the place were I am most comfortable. This is a very beautiful quote and I see why its called an "encouragement" as said in the book. I believe this was an encouragement because in the novel they wanted Augustus to know that whenever he felt down, sad, or depressed he could go to his parents and talk or whoever he felt most comfortable with. I also chose the quote in the second chapter that states "Without pain, how could you know joy?" I strongly agree with this quote and I see why it was an encouragement in the story because this quote is basically telling you to always look at the positive side of things. People often deal with their pain in many different ways. This quote is stating that there is always going to be a storm before the rainbow. I believe there is really no correct way to deal with pain because it also effects people in different ways. I think these 2 quotes can relate to each other by having to do with comfort in a way. "Home is were the heart is" has to do with comfort by "home" meaning whoever or whatever you are comfortable with. Home can truly be a place or person to talk to, open up to, or whoever or whatever makes you feel safe. "without pain how can we know joy" has to do with comfort because if you are in pain you really desire comfort which people usually handle in different ways.

Good friends are hard to find, true friend are hard to find, and faithful friend are hard to find. It's hard to find a friend that will listen and voice their opinion, but wont judge you because they support you. Once you have found that person or group you'll never forget them or that specific person and what they meant to you. My personal experience I had friends in an out of my life like candy but it's one girl I will never forget because we had our ups and downs but we always worked it out. We still talk till this day but not as close. This basically tells me that friends come and go but you have to let certain ones stay. People will come in your life but you don't know if you want to trust or if they are faithful. As hard as it is to find friends but not easy to keep them or for you to forget them. Not many trustworthy people and you have to find them and pick them out from the people ho are trustworthy or you will mess up your whole friendship with someone. The people who are there for you always are really hard to find and when you go and separate it's hard to move on because you might have to start from scratch.
